The new update Apple TV is absolute TV based content and service. The interesting aspect is that ability to get access to the cloud reduces the need of storing data in the your TV which means that there is no limit in keeping data and movies. However, not everyone agree to like this new update apple TV, they think that removed the hard drive is a mistake.   Maybe because having hard drive is a good option for some who are not interested in using the cloud and if home broadband allowance is not so good.
